Helauuu! is the rallying cry for one of Düsseldorf’s biggest and best events. For regulars, the call is synonymous with festivities, fun, music, sweets for the kids and getting together with friends. For newcomers, shout out the Hellau! and enjoy the moment!
At LfiSV, the Hellau was on everywhere and at all times, from early in the morning until 2.30pm. As usual, the festivities began with our youngest children – the preschoolers – on the theme of the Middle Ages, and we were able to follow adorable kings, queens, princes, princesses and other knights! dancing and singing with the same joy…
After passing through the elder children’s classes, the cheerful and colourful group stopped in the mobility classroom to let the confetti fly to the rhythm of the music, surrounded by young and old dancers! Then, on the stage specially prepared for them, they began to parade, proudly displaying their sparkling costumes.
Finally, 3 costumes out of a multitude were chosen and rewarded before a well-deserved snack of doughnuts, sweets and fruit juice!
No sooner had we taken a breath than “hellau!” was already echoing through the elementary and middle school classrooms.
Another level, another theme! For the elementary classes, the theme was, of course, the school’s common theme – the Olympic Games and sport!
On the playground, the Olympic Games got under way ahead of schedule, and the quality and colour of the performances were very high… Paris should beware!
For an hour and a half, the school playground became a theatre of laughter and joy, colourful costumes, dancing and celebration! The teachers had prepared a variety of songs and dances for all the participants. They danced again to their now well-known tune – “Feel the magic in the air”.
The costumes were awarded according to 2 criteria: creativity and craftsmanship!
We congratulate all the pupils for the time and hard work they put into making these beautiful outfits, and we thank the teachers for organising such a wonderful day, as well as the parents and pupil volunteers who distributed the delicious doughnuts, sweets and fruit juice.
A special award goes to our headmistress, Mme Chardon, for having prepared the first costume for the preschool theme and a second costume for the second theme, in the elementary school, all the while being the grand mistress of ceremonies!
