During the Press and Media in Schools Week, Estelle Faure, a journalist from Franceinfo, Agathe Guilhem and Rémi Chaurand, journalists from Astrapi, invited 33,000 students to attend a “Salut l’info!” webinar together with their classes on Tuesday 28 March 2023. Beforehand, the pupils sent in their questions, but the class could also ask questions via chat during the webinar.
Among the subjects covered they explained the difference between news and rumour, news and fake news, news and advertising, and news and opinion. They also explored the sources of news and how to verify that the information is accurate.
Every week, “Salut l’info” presents the news to 7-11 year-olds.
Following this intervention, the pupils researched and prepared posters on various subjects relating to the world of the press: the journalist’s job, fake news, etc.
To complete the picture, 2 pupils have prepared a selection of articles with only positive information for one week.
