A Lycée of excellence
The Lycée français international Simone Veil is celebrating its 60th anniversary. Created by a group of parents to educate around 15 children, the school has since grown into a lycée for educational excellence, one which attracts not only French students but an increasing number of students from other nationalities.
With around 600 students from Maternelle to Terminale, the school is renowned for the quality of its teaching, for the academic performance of its students and what they go on to do after they obtain their baccalauréat.
Our exam results demonstrate both the commitment of the teaching staff in providing students with the tools they need to succeed and the students’ dedication to their learning journey. With the percentage of students achieving high grades in both the Diplôme National du Brevet and the Baccalauréat, the lycée offers a pathway to the best universities and prestigious French Grandes Écoles.
A Lycée with an international outlook
An international outlook is part of the very essence of French lycées abroad. At LfiSV, multiculturalism is a part of daily life. Our school also takes a multilingual approach to teaching (French, German, English, Spanish) while adapting to individual attainment rates and needs.
German-speaking students are able to work towards the Abibac. Those with good English can join the European Section. Our International American Section opened in the Primaire in 2021 and will be available in Collège from September 2022. Preparations are already underway for this section to open at Lycée level from September 2023; this will allow students to work towards the French international baccalauréat.
An inclusive Lycée founded on strong values
For several years, staff at the the Lycée français international Simone Veil have worked under an ambitious inclusiveness policy for students with special educational needs. In addition, allophone students who don’t speak French when they start at the school benefit from a specific induction and learning programme.
This is a good opportunity for students to demonstrate responsibility and solidarity for their classmates. A student’s education is supplemented by adopting the LfdD values, which help them to gradually gain greater control over their own lives as well as being enlightened contributors to tomorrow’s world.

Testimonials
We are a Franco-German family living in Düsseldorf for more than 20 years. We chose to send our two children to the LfiSV after having spent several years in the German system (Kindergarten). We quickly became big fans of the school, which offers a family atmosphere, quality teaching and great cultural diversity.
We love the committed teachers, the small size classes, the quality of the language teaching, the wide range of after-school activities and of course the new playground.
Prior to Düsseldorf we lived in Brussels, but we came to Germany when our children were quite little. The choice of the French school was a natural one, because when we were in Düsseldorf before our move, we spontaneously came to visit the French school, and were welcomed so warmly that we didn't hesitate at all.
Our children have both started from the first year of the nursery school. The kindergarten is really great and has outstanding teachers. One of our two children had a medical accident, which now handicaps him in his daily life. We have always felt listened to and well looked after. The school has adapted to us, not the other way round. As the school welcomes French, English and German-speaking children, this "multiculturality" is naturally a great strength. The German and English teachers are extraordinary and do incredible things with their pupils.
Since our daughter went to LfiSV, she loves school.
As parents, we are not surprised.
The quality of teaching is excellent and tailored to the needs of each child.
Our daughter is learning French very quickly thanks to the excellent teaching techniques (various very effective and fun methods). The extremely loving and appreciative interaction in the teacher-pupil relationship (and the whole school team!!!) constantly sets an example for the children and strengthens them in their personal development. Great value is placed on intercultural competence, so that the coexistence of different nations and cultures is very enriching.
